WHITNEY WINSTON | Director
Whitney began Camp in the Community in 2011 as an outreach program at Camp Wesley Woods (CWW). It quickly grew from reaching 77 children in its initial year to over 400 children in its final year at CWW. She became director of Camp in the Community in November of 2016, as the ministry became its own separate camp, serving children in poverty throughout the Holston Conference.

She began working in camping in 2003, as a volunteer. She decided through her volunteer experience to seek a career in camp ministry, and from 2003-2016 served as a support staff, counselor, adventure resource, healthcare supervisor, support staff coordinator, environmental education instructor, outreach director, office manager, and retreat coordinator.

Whitney is a graduate of Maryville College with a degree in outdoor recreation. Whitney enjoys singing, hiking, camping, backpacking and traveling. She has two precious children, Wesley and Clark. Her husband Nick works at Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc. Email Whitney.
HALEIGH DAVIS | Assistant Director
Haleigh is a graduate of Maryville College where she received a degree in Writing Communications in addition to obtaining her Nonprofit Professional Credentials. During her time at Maryville College, she became involved with Holston Conference Camp and Retreat Ministries, and her passion for camping just kept growing from there.
She has served as a counselor, volunteer, and intern over her time in camping. She served specifically with Camp in the Community as the intern from 2016 to 2018. Prior to her return as the Assistant Director at Camp in the Community, she served at Emerald Youth Foundation as a Youth Ministry Coordinator.
Haleigh lives in Maryville with her husband, Matthew, who is a Civil Engineer and camp alum. Haleigh enjoys playing with her Golden Retrievers, kayaking, going to concerts, and watching Netflix.

Faith and Community Engagement Coordinator
KEENAN GERBACH
Keenan was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa where he received a BA Degree in Sport and Recreation Management at the University of the Western Cape. He first made his way to East, TN in the summer of 2011 when he served as a counselor at one of the Holston Conference camps and has been involved in camping ministry both in East, TN and in South Africa ever since.
​
He has worked in various roles over the years from counselor to outdoor education instructor to program specialist, and now serves as the Faith and Community Engagement Coordinator with Camp in the Community. He has served in Holston camping ministry for 7 years both in seasonal and year round positions. In 2013, Keenan started his own summer camp back in his home country and CAMP YOGO ran for 7 years, until the pandemic hit. He also served as a youth pastor in Cape Town for 3 years.

Keenan has a heart for ministry and making disciples, but is also known for his dashing good looks and joyous humor. He loves sport, coffee, traveling and walks on the beach (or mountains).
